When to sharpen a hammer?

The most important thing to look for is a damaged claw, cutting or chipping tips on the hammer. When you look at your hammer and you see that the original edge is starting to round over or that the tips have burrs and large nicks, then it's time to get your hammer sharpened.

By sharpening you hammer tips this will insure that your hammer will easily pull nails, chip bricks or blocks or dig-into wood when using your hammer for demolition.
